Crossing Borders: Exploring Citizenship Education Scholarship in Australia and Canada

9/3/2026

In a time of rapid global change, questions about how we engage as citizens — and how education might support this — feel increasingly important.

Watch this international webinar hosted by CERN (Canada) and SCEAA,  exploring scholarship in citizenship education.

Featuring leading researchers from both countries, the webinar brings together scholars working across different contexts to reflect on young people’s perspectives on democracy, civic reasoning, belonging, equity, and community-led approaches to justice.

We are honoured to have Professor Alan Sears, Professor Carla Peck, Professor Joel Westheimer, Dr Ana Radovic, A/P Marc Pruyn, and Professor Cathie Burgess leading the discussion. Their work has contributed to international conversations on citizenship education and democratic engagement.
